Nutrition 101 for fat loss in 2023

Jan 20, 2023

Intermittent veganuary, keto, fasting is all the rage this year.

Sadly you need a loan from the IMF, a biology degree and a blood lab and 25 hours each day to implement it.

When it comes to fat loss people spend a huge amount of time looking into the actions they should take. "Eat less, move more" in all its 4 word splendour forces people to look at food and exercise, rather than the driving force behind it. (Your brain by the way, not getting your arse in gear).

And sadly, because weight loss is a gazillion dollar industry, people will endlessly complicate this.

95% of what people recommend crosses over. People largely recommend the same things. Don't eat too much processed food. Eat more nutrient dense foods. Drink more water.

You'd be hard pushed to find a dietary system that disagrees with this.

But why talk about that when it doesn't grab eyes and therefore money?!

Because it's the right thing to do ...?

At Sustain we sleep soundly at night (well, the childless one of us anyway) because we're content we are making the process as easily and 'sustainable' (hence the name) as possible.

In our 'How to have an Awesome 2023 - pt 2' podcast you can hear us discuss:

  • How (and why) most people need to eat more to lose more (and keep it off)
  • Why slow and steady (note NOT fast fat loss) is key
  • The 1 thing most people would benefit from but don't do
  • And how you can have your cake (or wine or chocolate) and lose weight

If you are feeling lost, confused or in a tizz about where to start. Or you just need a reminder about the fundamentals of healthy eating, being full, content, in control and able to lose weight for good then this is perfect for you.
